McCluskey International in full swing with Gran Canaria Golf Association

1.25am 14th July 2011 - Travel

Gran Canaria Golf Association has appointed destination specialists McCluskey International to help increase awareness in the UK market of it specialist golf product offering, which is considered to be one of the best in Spain and Europe.

In a string of successful new account wins, Gran Canaria Golf Association came, in part, as a result of McCluskey’s ongoing Pan European partnership with Tourism Trademark, an international organisation of independent Marketing and Communications agencies that serve travel, hospitality and destination clients.

Pablo Llinares, Managing Director of the Gran Canaria Golf Association commented: “Many golfing experts rate the golf courses in Gran Canaria among the best in Spain. They are made up of seven magnificent courses spread around the island and all complimented by a plethora of hotels and resorts for players to stay and relax in. All of these messages need highlighting to a thriving golf market in the UK, hence the reason for bringing McCluskey International on board.

“In addition, a key part of the communications strategy is to convey that Gran Canaria has year-round warm weather and thus tapping into ‘fair weather players’ which could prove to be lucrative.”

McCluskey International’s Agency Principal, Judy McCluskey, also commented on her agency’s win: “Gran Canaria is already a popular holiday choice with the UK consumer, however it is not perhaps as well known for its golf offering. The fact that Gran Canaria has exceptional environmental contrasts, magnificent beaches, a rich history, culture and cuisine and all complimented by a range of fine accommodations should make the destination a preferred choice for the UK golfer looking for something different and we look forward to communicating this through our strategy.”
