Srixon Sports, a world leader in golf ball and golf club technology have announced the addition of a new and improved Z-URS to their golf ball line up.
With its new technologically advanced cover, thinner mid layer and larger core, the new Z-URS is the latest addition to Srixon’s Z-UR Series of world wide Tour Winning balls.
Each element of the previous Z-URS model was redesigned to provide a golf ball that had more velocity, with increased feel, greenside spin and control, without sacrificing the optimal launch conditions of its predecessor.
First change is the incredible new shear resistant urethane cover, which is the softest urethane cover Srixon have ever produced. It is also one of the thinnest in the world at an incredible 0.02” thin! Finally, to complement the incredibly thin and soft cover is a brand new, thinner mid layer that measures 0.039” vs 0.062” of its predecessor.
The ultra thin cover and mid layer surround an Energetic Gradient Growth Core that is larger than most of the competitors products and gives the Z-URS both more resilience and ball velocity. The same 330 dimple pattern provides high trajectory with a penetrating ball flight for stability in all types of conditions.
A Srixon spokesperson was asked why there was a new Z-URS when its predecessor had only been on the market for 12 months and replied, “We simply found a way to make it better!
“As part of our on going programme to find the best performance balls, we found a way to keep the all important feel and launch conditions of the original Z-URS but give it more velocity, with better spin control round the greens. We did this by putting one of the softest, thinnest covers around a brand new thinner mid layer. This meant that we could have a much larger core for increased velocity, an optimum launch angle and low spin conditions. This makes the new Z-URS longer than its predecessor, with a softer cover and with better feel and spin control.”
The new Z-URS is played by Tim Clark, Brian Davis, Miguel Jimenez and many of Srixon’s growing list of International staff players. Its sister product the Z-URC, which was launched at the back end of 2006, is played by current World Number 2 Jim Furyk and New signing Henrik Stenson.
The new Z-URS was tied for the highest rated Tour Performance ball in the Performance category, 2007 Golf Digest Hot List.
