The UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) and The Organisation of Golf & Range Operators (OGRO) have joined forces once again to host the Golf Business & Industry Convention (GOLF BIC) at the Marriott Forest of Arden, March 29-30, 2012.
The two organisations successfully staged a combined golf industry event in March of this year at Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club in East Sussex, bringing together golf course and driving range owners and operators from across the country to share best practices and industry experience.
The two-day event will feature a number of thought-provoking seminars and discussions, designed to aid golf course and range owners and operators to enhance their businesses. There will also be table-top exhibitions from a number of service suppliers as well as networking opportunities, a charity dinner and a golf competition on the Forest of Arden’s superb Championship Course.
Jerry Kilby CCM, UKGCOA Executive Director, said: “This event will provide propriety golf course and range owners and operators with the one opportunity in the year to meet leading suppliers and service providers under one roof. It also offers the chance to network with other owners and operators to share best practices and experiences and learn from one another.
“There will be a wide range of interesting seminars and discussions which will be of huge benefit to all those attending, including a debate on a topic close at the forefront of everyone’s mind at the moment – VAT. We will be bringing in tax experts to lead these sessions.”
OGRO Chairman Colin Jenkins added: “GOLF BIC is open to all golf course and range owners and operators and all details of the event for exhibitors, owners and operators will be contained in a new website – www.golfbic.com. GOLF BIC is destined to become the leading golf industry event of the calendar and we welcome all those that wish to participate. Golf operators and everyone involved in the golf industry need to have a strong relationship and the opportunity to get together and discuss all the relevant issues is not to be missed.”
The Marriott Forest of Arden hotel provides the ideal venue for GOLF BIC due to its central UK location, its ease of access via the motorway and national rail networks and close proximity to Birmingham Airport for those who wish to fly from Scotland and further afield.
