Former world number one tennis super-star, Jimmy Connors will be attending the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit, which takes place in Pattaya, Thailand at the beginning of November.
The American tennis legend says, “I am delighted to be invited to attend and speak at the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit – it is an excellent opportunity for me to meet first hand a cross-section of the people who are driving the game of golf in a really exciting part of the world.”
Jimmy who played top-level tennis until he was 39 years is also a serious golfer who maintains a very respectable single-digit handicap. In a recent report published in the Washington Post, quoting a new study on tennis greats, Jimmy is ranked as the “greatest tennis player of all time”. According to the study, published this month in the scientific journal PloS ONE, Jimmy won 178 quality matches, more than any other player.
“We are really pleased to be able to bring out a sports super-star of the global stature of Jimmy and we know that he will make a hefty contribution towards the success of the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit,” revealed Mike Sebastian, chief executive officer of the Asia Pacific Golf Group, owner and producer of the Summit.
“Together with golf legend Tony Jacklin and a stellar line-up of international speakers, we have assembled a team of experts who are all eminently qualified to tackle the Summit theme – ‘The Challenge of Change’.
“A whole week will be dedicated to analysing the challenges faced by the golf industry in Asia with a view to drawing up a road-map to seek out lasting solutions brought about by the constant of change.
“Like every industry in the world, golf in Asia is no exception – it is confronting major challenges that threaten its growth going forward. Our conferences will help you roll up your sleeves and to grapple with the challenges.”
The programme includes:

Mike Sebastian concludes: “Never before has such a coordinated programme been drawn up in Asia to help the industry navigate through the challenges facing the industry. More than 50 experts drawn from all over the world will gather at the exotic beach resort of Pattaya, Thailand to share their experiences and wealth of knowledge.
“Here’s your opportunity to come and join your peers and be part of an on-going revolution and get ahead of the change curve. Delegate registration for all events is now open on-line.
