Golfbreaks.com, Europe’s largest golf travel company, has announced an increase in sales of 10% in 2006, following the end of its financial year; taking the number of golfers booking with Golfbreaks.com to nearly 110,000.
“It has been another great year for Golfbreaks.com,” says Andrew Stanley, managing director of Golfbreaks.com. “In some areas we have seen phenomenal growth, with bookings to Spain and Portugal up nearly 300% on 2005. England and Wales are still our key markets, however, as you can see the other countries are gradually catching up and we are expanding all the time.”
Golfbreaks.com has launched a number of new destinations this year including Belgium, Italy, Madeira, Majorca, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
“Some months this year have been slow and we did not see any growth in June, due to the World Cup,” continues Andrew. “However, following the Ryder Cup in September we have seen a massive surge in sales to The K Club with everyone wanting to play the Ryder Cup course.”
Golfbreaks.com provide a one-stop service and organise golf breaks to over 750 venues across the UK and Europe, employing a team of 60 at its offices in Windsor, Berkshire. The company has seen year on year growth since it was founded in May 1998.
“Customers come to us to take the hassle out of booking a golf break. Rather than phoning round different golf courses and hotel reservations we can do everything for them. Most of our sales consultants are keen golfers and all have first hand venue knowledge, so can offer guidance to those customers who are not sure where they want to go,” says Andrew. “We have a range of three to five-star venues covering a variety of budgets to suit all customer needs.”
Golfbreaks.com is looking to expand further across Europe and worldwide during 2007.
