Ryder Cup coup for Sunderland of Scotland

4.00pm 4th July 2000 - Corporate

Sunderland of Scotland has been commissioned to produce the outerwear for the European team for the Ryder Cup at The Belfry next year. The team will be kitted out in jacket, weather-beater and trousers, lined wind vest, fleece jacket and the Sunderland hat.

Company President Warren Sunderland said, “We are proud to be continuing a tradition started in 1965 when we first provided the outerwear for the Ryder Cup team and of the confidence this shows in our product. We believe there is no better golf outerwear than that of Sunderland to enable our teams to meet the standards of excellence set at this tournament. Our garments are made with just one aim in mind – playability – there is no better way of putting it.”

Mike Grey at the PGA said: “It will be a pleasure to see the European Ryder

Cup team playing in Sunderland’s outerwear – it is another well deserved

accolade for Sunderland of Scotland.”
