GCA Moves On

12.48am 11th April 2011 - Management Topics - This story was updated on Sunday, June 26th, 2011

The Golf Consultants’ Association, with some 10 members specialising in a wide range of expertise in the golf industry – from architecture, to leisure and operation consultancy, from project management to market research and financial advice – has elected Rohan Barnett of GRN Consulting as its new Chairman. He will be supported in an Executive by John Ashworth and Howard Swan.

GCA’s objective in the next twelve months is to expand its member base to specialist consultants in other fields of the golf industry not yet represented in the Association…irrigation, greenkeeping, the professional game and the like…and to organise educational initiatives with other administrative bodies such as the Owners’ Association, the R and A and the Golf Unions, as well as national and local governments.

The new Chairman adds: “I am delighted to have been charged with the responsibility in leading the Association for the next year and shall strive to advance the objectives we have in making, individually and collectively, a greater contribution to our industry.  It may be difficult times presently but I am sure that in our varied yet coordinated fields we can engineer value and excellent returns for our clients.”

GCA intends to cooperate with OGRO / GRN and UKGCOA to host a Conference next spring.
