The National Golf Show is looking for ladies of the links, women with wedges and girls who golf after making a concerted effort to ensure its launch event appeals to the fairer sex.
Event organiser Damian Benstead explained: “A lot of feedback from similar events in the past has shown that women believe there isn’t enough on offer for them at consumer golf shows. They feel marginalised with the focus being on men’s golf and the ladies’ side of things just being an afterthought.
“That is definitely not the case at the National Golf Show and we’ve gone out of our way to make sure women have plenty to gain from the event and can enjoy it just as much as men.”
And the golfing extravaganza is promising a host of special additions for lady golfers including a special coaching area dedicated to women and sections for ladies’ equipment within all areas of the show’s enormous golf store.
In addition, a host of exhibitors specialising in products for women golfers have signed up to the National Golf Show, including fashion brands, gadgets and one company owned by one of Britain’s most successful female golfers.
Vivien Saunders is a founder of the Women’s PGA, a former Women’s British Open Champion and was the first European to earn a place on the LPGA in America. She is now the owner of Abbotsley Golf Hotel and will be present on the venue’s stand during the show.
As well as promoting Abbotsley’s residential golf schools and range of Abb Fab tournaments for lady golfers, Saunders will also be meeting visitors, signing copies of her books and dvds and appearing on the show’s stage.
The National Golf Show takes place from April 15-17 and a strong focus on visitor participation will mean golfers are greeted by a host of opportunities to swing a club, with free tuition from fully qualified coaches and the chance to win fantastic prizes on a variety of innovative fun and games among the show’s main features.
Every visitor will also receive a free round of golf at Nailcote Hall and all the latest equipment from big brands will be available to test and buy as well as the latest training aids and apparel, with the show bringing together all elements of the golfing world.
Advance tickets to the National Golf Show cost just £7.50 – a 25 per cent saving from the on-the-door price – and come with a selection of exclusive golfing offers and benefits, including a £50 voucher from Your Golf Travel.com and a further 10 per cent off the Watch Hut’s show prices.
