Taylor Made & adidas endorse The Golfers Club

9.30am 31st May 2000 - Corporate

International golf equipment and footwear giants Taylor Made adidas Golf has announced an exclusive endorsement agreement with The Golfers Club, the UK insurance and benefits organisation.

The deal was finalised at a special launch event held at The Belfry between Robin Gibson, Taylor Made adidas Golf’s European marketing manager and Paul Wilson, Golfers Club director. “The Golfers Club provides a valuable service to a significant number of club golfers throughout the country,” said Robin Gibson. “We are delighted to be able to contribute to this service and help the Golfers Club and its members in any way we can.” Paul Wilson added, “This endorsement should prove a huge boost to our plans to reach a membership base of 40,000 by the end of the year. We’re delighted to be part of such a prestigious partnership and hope that it will be mutually beneficial throughout this year and beyond.

“Joining The Golfers Club is not unlike joining an organisation such as the AA or RAC. Obviously, the product is different but the process of membership is very similar. Central to the yearly membership is comprehensive golf insurance. Something every golfer needs to cover them.”

Manchester based Golfers Club, which has members nation-wide and celebrates its third birthday this year, claims to be the largest membership scheme for amateur players in the country. On joining golfers receive a package of benefits including comprehensive insurance, a free glossy, quarterly golf magazine called “Pin High!” and substantial money off vouchers for equipment. Members also receive approximately 18 other benefits including 50% green fee saving at any one of 720 courses, free accommodation at 210 UK hotels, free hole in one cover, discounts at David Leadbetter Golf Academies, Thomas Cook Direct, De Vere golf break discounts, BUPA Care and a free tee time booking service.
