Leaderboard Golf Plan another Golf Hotel

4.22am 9th February 2011 - Corporate - This story was updated on Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Following the successful opening of its hotel at The Oxfordshire last year, Leaderboard has submitted plans for a three star, 40 bedroom hotel at Sandford Springs Golf Club at Kingsclere, Hampshire.

The proposed site, which covers two-and-a-half acres, would be situated on the current overflow car park at the golf club. An estimated 22 jobs would be created.

The application has been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and includes a statement which reads: “The proposed hotel is needed to enhance visitors’ enjoyment of the existing facilities and to improve the financial viability of the existing organisation.

“The additional traffic generated by the proposed hotel will be relatively low and analysis shows that the site access has substantial reserves of spare capacity at peak periods.

“The proposed hotel can be constructed without causing any adverse effect on local landscape character.”
