The UK’s leading internet tee time booking website – Teeofftimes.co.uk – has become the newest addition to the impressive stable of PGA official suppliers. It has signed a three-year deal to be part of the PGA’s official programme, which already includes sister brand Golfbreaks.com.
The new venture will see the PGA work closely on various initiatives to promote awareness of the company – which has seen a 140 per cent surge in bookings over the past 12 months to in excess of 100,000 rounds of golf.
Teeofftimes.co.uk offers golfers 24 hour a day access via the web to a variety of tee times at more than 600 golf clubs and resorts across the UK.
The business, in conjunction with the clubs, has adopted the ‘airline seat’ model by offering extremely competitive green fees providing added value to the golfer’s experience. It also offers golfers the chance to view availability out of hours and to make last minute arrangements to play a course.
The relationship between Teeofftimes.co.uk and golf clubs is equally beneficial as it enhances wider promotion of the venue and an opportunity to raise awareness of course availability in peak and off peak times.
Steve Hemsworth, managing director of Golfbreaks.com, said: “The pace of change in the tee time booking market has been dramatic. Teeofftimes.co.uk lead the UK market providing a highly convenient service for golf clubs to load available tee time inventory and for consumers the opportunity to book their tee times online at over 600 UK golf clubs.
“The partnership with the PGA provides the ideal platform for promotion of these benefits to all PGA members, who in turn will see a great number of golfers playing at their clubs.”
The company is launching into Ireland this year and is planning to expand its UK network as more and more clubs and resorts see the advantages of providing a round-the-clock booking system to fill their fairways.
Teeofftimes.co.uk was only founded in 2007 and has already made significant strides in capitalising on the changing habits of golfers, as internet tee-time booking becomes as commonplace as buying concert tickets, hotels rooms and flights.
Robert Maxfield, PGA property and commercial director, said: “The way golfers book and play golf is changing with increasing numbers using the internet to check availability and find the best tee times at the touch of a button.
“Teeofftimes.co.uk caters for that growing market and also presents excellent opportunities for PGA members who will gain access to new golfers at their clubs.”
