The BTME in Harrogate brought record enquiries to this specialist in the use of ‘Plaswood’ for a wide range of golf course signage and accessories.
Bill McIntosh, Sales Director of Parsaver says, “We had a record number of enquiries and orders far beyond expectations at the BIGGA show. The interest in signs made from recycled materials was terrific and there is a definate move away from using wood. Indeed why use wood, we can make anything a golf club needs in Plaswood instead of wood.”
Plaswood can also be used for a wide range of products such as duckboards, bank and stream revetting, bridges, bins, divot boxes, seats, winter teeing grounds, benches, tables, pathway edging, fencing and also halfway house / shelters.
A great deal of time and money can be saved without the annual programme of refurbishing wooden products releasing greens staff to actually look after the golf course. Using recycled materials makes a big difference in reducing costs and therefore increasing profits all within budgets.
The main benefits are that unlike wood Plaswood will not deteriorate with weathering, it will not rust, crack, rot splinter and will last five times longer than wood without maintenance. Plaswood is inert and will not leach harmful chemicals into the soil, it will not go green with algae, it is waterproof and can stand in water, indeed it is used widely in marine environments and in boatbuilding.
Bill McIntosh continues, “We also had a lot of interest in larger structures such as the Course Information boards and Entrance signs. The ability to show clubs how to pay for signage and generate an annual income stream also proved to be a winner.
“A full branding and corporate identity on all signage in the Clubhouse and on the course including printed materials such as stationary, scorecards, yardage books and green fee tickets. We would like to thank all visitors to our stand and in particular thanks for the interest in using recycled materials and of course for all the orders.”
