Hundreds of young golfers from five years old and up can get a first taste of golf thanks to funding from the PGA European Tour and the Golf Foundation at the Daily Telegraph Dunlop Masters
The Golf Foundation – the junior golf charity dedicated to making the game available to as many youngsters as possible – will certainly be doing just that during the Masters, held this week at the Marriott Forest of Arden, near Coventry.
The message for the week – to all families attending the famous Tour event – is to come and have a look at golf: in between watching all the star players, come to the Golf Foundation junior golf tent and have a go at Tri-Golf.
The Foundation is teaming up with sports event delivery partner F11 Golf so that all juniors attending the event can play Tri-Golf, the modified golf game that gets youngsters hitting soft balls in a series of fun challenges. Tri-Golf is a game that over 300,000 youngsters experienced last year.
Thanks to support from the PGA European Tour, the Foundation is running its tent during the four days of the Masters. Local schools and junior golf starter centres have an open invitation to attend.
Chief executive of the Golf Foundation, Mike Round, said, “We‘re all looking forward to a hugely exciting week at the Marriott Forest of Arden and this is a superb opportunity for those families attending to see if their children enjoy hitting some balls and experiencing what the game’s all about.”
