Members of the new UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) are being offered the opportunity to attend the European Golf Business Conference in London, November 30-December 2, 2010, at a significantly reduced rate.
Owners who join the Association, which was launched in October and is open to all UK golf course owners, will benefit from a £250 event rebate* , if they join the UKGCOA before December 15.
Jerry Kilby, Executive Director of UKGCOA, said: “This will be the first time the European Golf Business conference takes place in the UK and it is a great opportunity for UK golf course owners to meet each other, share best practice and learn from some of the best in the business.
“It will also be an opportunity for new or prospective members to meet the inaugural board directors of the UKGCOA, including Colin Mayes, Chief Executive Officer of Burhill Golf & Leisure, the Association’s first Chairman, to learn more about the Association and its vision to professionalise the golf course business in the UK.”
The UKGCOA has the backing of the English Golf Union (EGU) and is promising to introduce comprehensive market data and share best practice to help golf course owners make informed business decisions. Membership is open to facilities that are owned by individuals, families, corporations, landowners, municipal authorities, syndicates and club members.
The goal of 5th European Golf Business Conference, to be staged at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Victoria, London, is to investigate new ways to increase player numbers and build foundations for the future of golf.

Guest speakers at the 5th annual EGCOA conference include Mike Hughes, CEO of National Golf Course Owners Association USA, and Kelli Jerome, Director of Marketing & Business Development, Golf Environment Organization, who will discuss the latest trends and developments in the European and worldwide golf arena.
The UKGCOA is an integral part of the European Golf Course Owners Association, and plays an active role alongside other European golf course owners in pan-European initiatives and programmes. It is open to all UK golf course owners, is backed by the English Golf Union (EGU), and represents the interests of golf course owners in a unified way. The Association will also organise national and regional conferences, post EGCOA, to develop the sport.
