The thirteenth edition of the ever-popular ‘Golfdays‘ guide to the golf courses of Ireland has been sponsored by AIB. The book features over 380 courses throughout the island of Ireland, each of which has a page that includes 3D diagrams of the course, a detailed scorecard, a course description, clubhouse facilities and a note on green fees.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsors Billy Andrews, general manager, AIB said that the sponsorship was fully in line with AIB’s policy of supporting sport at club level. “This publication brings to life not alone the courses that are always in the news but more importantly the many hidden jewels that are to be found throughout Ireland,” he continued.
Also included in the book is a CD disk with ‘Golfdays‘ computer generated flyovers of two major Irish courses – Druids Glen and Malone. The flyovers are taken from the book’s 3D models and enable viewers to ‘fly‘ over some of the holes on their home computers.
The book is of particular interest to the thousands of golfers who as individuals or in small groups or large societies visit different courses at frequent intervals throughout the year. It is also invaluable to visitors who play golf whilst visiting Ireland. ‘Golfdays‘ provides an exclusive and unique reference to help select the most appropriate and convenient choice of courses. By providing a complete reference ‘Golfdays‘ encourages golfers to visit clubs other than the well-known favourites.
There are comprehensive and engaging introductions to the four golfing provinces in Ireland by Jack McGowan, golf correspondent for the ‘Belfast Telegraph‘.
Nearly every course in Ireland is presented in this complete illustrated guide of 464 colour pages, priced at €19.95.
