Onetee that saves money

12.15am 17th December 2004 - Corporate

British old age pensioners Jim Rimmer and Lol Jones launched their Adjustable Height Golf Tee at Première Golf 2003 in Marbella. Just over a year later and their tees are now fitted on ranges throughout the UK and the rest of Europe, all making extra revenue for the range owners. Their company, Onetee Ltd, has supplied Tees at La Manga for the Golf Foundation and for teaching bays all over the continent. “The pros just love them!” says Jim.
The Adjustable Height Golf Tees come in four different sizes to suit virtually any depth of teeing mat. They also have an extra long 85mm rubber tee made especially for their tees. The feed back from the ranges is that the players love them, and the range owners are making big savings with no lost or stolen tees, and no need to change the size of tees – just a simple turn of the Adjustable tee up or down with the finger and thumb to suit the golfers choice, even for deep faces drivers. The time saved results in increased ball sales.
The unique design of the Adjustable Height Tee is after many years of trials and design changes. The Tee is spring loaded to minimize the wear on the rubber tee part and the golf club face. They are virtually self-cleaning, with no electrics needed, and no need to change existing teeing mats.
One of the tees is made for outside mats, the hole being formed with a standard pin cup cutter, so the teeing area can be moved as required. Covered bays are usually on a concrete base so all that is required is an 82mm hole drilled with a diamond tipped core drill to take the Adjustable Height Golf Tee.
The average cost for supplying and fitting 20 tees in concrete – this can usually be completed in one day – is £1,000. “You can recover the cost of installing Adjustable Height Golf Tees in less than one year,” says Jim. “The savings are incredible.”
