Another BRS Client is ‘Club of the Year’

12.27am 28th September 2010 - Management Topics

Installing the world leading BRS Golf online booking system seems to be an essential component for forward thinking golf clubs. With the famous Royal St. David’s GC in Harlech winning the latest Golf Union of Wales Welsh Golf Club of the Year 2010, it becomes the third club in a row with the BRS system to win this highly prestigious award, other winners being Aberdovey and Conwy.

Dr. Brian Smith of BRS Golf knows how big a difference a BRS system can make, especially to clubs that are some way off the beaten track but well worth a visit: “Installing our system to market and accept bookings online is helping more than 450 clubs exploit their marketing potential, and turn that potential into healthier bottom lines. It is no coincidence that the clubs that have been winning this prestigious Golf Union of Wales award are all successful users of our system. They all wanted the best tool to market their tee times 24/7, capture e-mail addresses of visitors for database building and manage their on course traffic without any queuing for the 1st tee, and whenever they talked to any of our customers, BRS was the obvious choice.”

“Clubs of this calibre have so much to offer visitors worldwide and when people check out their websites, having the opportunity to look at available tee times and then book one is tremendously reassuring for visitors, and makes the club look very professional.”

Club Secretary Trefor Davies explained the club’s success in a recent article in Golf Business News: “It was tremendous recognition for the hard work we have done in modernising the club. We are a very traditional club so we wanted to keep with tradition while modernising as well, so we have adopted a lot of initiatives and made changes which have culminated in this award. It was a bit of a shock to the system for some people, but now they seem to have really embraced it. We have upgraded our online booking, looked at our marketing, improved our communications and become much more pro-active with our members to ensure they have their say.”

The BRS Golf online booking system has helped the club increase its visitor bookings and member recruitment, as Trefor Davies outlines: “We have had more visitors, especially from overseas, so the publicity from the big events has worked really well. We have an international membership including people from Holland, the US and even Australia.”

But for Trefor Davies and Royal St. David’s GC, this is only the start: “We will not rest on our laurels. The Ryder Cup is finishing – we have got to keep pushing forward.”
