The Renault tractor division in the UK has been merged into CLAAS UK as from 1st October and will be marketed in future under the CLAAS brand and livery.
The new CLAAS tractor range for the UK amenity market will consist of 22 models ranging in power output from 75hp up to 335hp. With the launch of its new range CLAAS brings to the market the same core values that has made it a world leader for harvesting machinery. In line with these core values, CLAAS UK has worked upon putting into place the right people and systems to achieve its objectives and an increased market share.
An expanded dealer network is supported by a specialist sales and product team based at Saxham, Suffolk. In addition to their agricultural tractor network CLAAS UK has appointed six specialist non-agricultural dealers who previously held the Renault franchise. These are Gibsons Garden Machinery Ltd, Burrows (GM) Ltd, Barloworld Handling Ltd, Scottish Grass Machinery, Bartram Mowers Ltd and P&S Machinery.
To bring tractor experience to the same level as harvesting, CLAAS has added 17 new positions to its UK sales and after-sales organisation with the majority of the new positions filled by ex-Renault employees, including Groundcare Product Manager, Ian Thomson.
A new CLAAS training academy at Saxham has been constructed and staffed to cater for the increased training necessary as tractors are added to the harvesting range. The academy will offer sales and operator training in addition to a full programme of service technician courses.
On the parts front CLAAS has increased its warehouse capacity at Saxham to cater for a significant inventory of tractor parts. This stock is in addition to the stock of parts already held be the ex-Renault factory at Shipston-on-Stour. The premises at Shipston have been taken over by CLAAS UK.
