Staplehurst Golf Centre, the headquarters of both Golf Range News (GRN) and the Organisation of Golf Range Owners (OGRO), is now for sale. Colin Jenkins has decided to focus on his other interests, which have become more and more time consuming. The course is set in 54 acres of beautiful Kent parkland and comprises of a nine-hole par 36 layout, with two sets of tees, which are played alternatively for those playing 18 holes, clubhouse, green-keeping barn and a state-of-the-art golf range. The course has a comprehensive drainage network and an automatic irrigation system for both greens and tees.
The clubhouse contains a licensed bar, retail area and changing rooms, with showers and toilets. There is a small kitchen and a disabled toilet.
Colin took over the course from the founder, Bob Sayner, four years ago. “Since we have been at Staplehurst, we have implemented many changes,” he said. “We have re-invested in the course, clubhouse and machinery. There was a practice range in existence, but since we have established the range, we can offer first class practice facilities to all types of golfer. It has become impossible to run the centre and keep up with the workload of Golf Range News and OGRO. Staplehurst represents an ideal opportunity for a golf professional or someone wishing to change life styles.”
Staplehurst Golf Centre is available freehold, with a price guide of £795,000, or on a 25 year lease for £350,000 and an annual rent of £22,500.
