Record number of CGA coaches

12.10am 8th April 2004 - People

Cranfield Golf Academy, one of the most highly regarded golfing academies in the United Kingdom has just appointed fourteen new coaches. The new coaches will be located at existing CGA centres throughout London and the south of England as well as at two new sites for CGA – TopGolf Game Centre Chigwell and Watford. These new appointments will see the total number of CGA coaches rise to just over 40, making it one of the largest employers of golf professionals in the industry.
Scott Cranfield, founder of the Cranfield Golf Academy, said, “It’s fantastic to announce these new appointments at what is a very exciting time for the Cranfield Golf Academy. We are now regarded as one of the leading coaching academies in the UK and, as such, not only has demand for our lessons increased but we are seizing the opportunity to expand the number of centres where we are based.”
All coaches are personally trained and certified by Scott and have to complete rigorous training programmes. They receive regular updates in the mental, physical and physiological aspects of the game and are reappraised by Scott on a monthly basis. For many of the new coaches, Scott’s training methods act as a real incentive, “With CGA’s unique and effective approach to coaching I felt that I would be able to teach golf to the best of my ability,” commented Willie Dhommee, one of three new coaches at Leaderboard Golf Centre in Reading.
