Srixon launch Metal Mix Tour Ball

8.30am 23rd March 2000 - Corporate

Srixon, manufacturers of the world’s first perimeter weighted golf ball, the Metal Mix SF, has expanded its range of high performance balls with the launch of the Srixon Metal Mix Tour. The Srixon Metal Mix Tour is a multi-layer solid three piece ball that utilises the same patented perimeter weighted technology and construction as first introduced in the Srixon Metal Mix SF.

The Metal Mix Tour’s blended tungsten rubber mid layer shifts the weight balance to the outside of the ball which provides a larger, consistent spin rate throughout ball flight, increased directional stability and a truer roll when putting. The Srixon Metal Mix Tour has a softer, newly designed elastomer cover for greater spin and control around the green and its 420 dimple pattern provides a Tour preferred trajectory.

Ken Saint, sales director of the Caledonian Golf Group, the UK distributors of Srixon, explained, “The Metal Mix Tour provides the player with the best of both worlds – distance and control – plus the technology distance benefits have been implemented and combined with enhanced spin and control.”

The new Srixon Metal Tour golf ball will be available in golf retailers throughout the UK from May 2000 at £7.50 for a sleeve of three. It is the most recent addition to the Srixon range of high performance balls which currently includes Srixon Hi-Brid, Srixon Metal Mix SF, Srixon Hi-Spin and Srixon Soft Feel. Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) is the number one golf ball manufacturer in Japan, the world’s second largest golf market.
