Weetabix continues championship sponsorship

8.50am 2nd March 2004 - Sponsorship & Events

The Golf Foundation is delighted to announce Weetabix’s continued support of their prestigious Age Group Championships. Weetabix has confirmed that it will sponsor the event for the next 3 years, extending its support of the Championships to 13 years. The competition also received another welcome boost with the Marriott Forest of Arden agreeing to host the grand final in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The Golf Foundation’s events officer, Sarah Morris said, “The Age Group Championships have grown into one of the largest junior golf events in the British Isles. The support that Weetabix has given us over the last ten years has been invaluable and we are delighted that they have committed to supporting the Championships for the next three years.”
Entry forms for the Weetabix Age Group Championships will be distributed throughout the British Isles during March. All golf clubs can stage their own club-level qualifying competition with the winners of each age category qualifying for one of fifteen regional finals. These will take place between June and August and the winners will then compete at the prestigious grand final to be held at the Marriott Forest of Arden in August.
Former winners of the Weetabix Age Group Championships include European Tour Professionals Justin Rose, Lee Westwood and Ian Garbutt as well as leading Ladies European Tour player Rebecca Hudson. For further information on this year’s Weetabix Age Group Championships visit www.golf-foundation.org
