The Old Course Vilamoura will see out 2024 in style after its clubhouse re-opened following a transformative renovation coinciding with a refreshed brand identity.

Known as ‘Grande Dame’, the Old Course in Vilamoura has welcomed several enhancements since the resort went under the management of DETAILS, the management company wholly owned by Arrow Global Portugal.

The venue has been thoughtfully refurbished, blending style and sophistication that define the brand, preserving its legacy and reinforcing its status as one of Europe’s premier golf destinations.

The revamped clubhouse incorporates elegant upgrades across key areas, including the entrance, golf shop, living room, restaurant, bar, and terrace. At the heart of the redesign is the introduction of a British-inspired gastropub paying homage to the course’s legendary architect, Frank Pennink.

Combining vintage charm with modern flair, the restaurant promises a welcoming, open space for all to wind, including members, guests, and the local community in Vilamoura, showcasing a variety of traditional UK favourites alongside native Portuguese dishes on the menu.

The new branding for the Old Course embodies its legacy of prestige and exclusivity. The monogram logo, with its script font, reflects elegance, craftsmanship, and exclusivity, while the purple and gold colour palette signifies royalty, sophistication, and opulence. Together, they create a timeless and memorable identity that celebrates the course’s heritage and premium status.

DETAILS continues its significant expansion across its portfolio, further reinforcing its leadership in hospitality, sports and leisure. Recent highlights include The Els Club Vilamoura and Equestrian Centre, which each showcase the platform’s dedication to innovation and excellence.

Nuno Sepúlveda, Co-CEO of DETAILS, said: “The reopening of the Old Course clubhouse and our new brand identity represent our ambition to set a new benchmark in luxury golf experiences. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to sustainability, sophistication, and exceptional service.”

Complementing the clubhouse transformation, the course renovations have introduced sustainability-driven enhancements, including water-resistant grass varieties and upgraded irrigation systems, ensuring the Old Course remains an environmentally responsible golfing landmark.
