Furthering its relationship with the English Golf Union, PowaKaddy, the #1 name in powered carts, has supplied all nine members of England’s Under 18 team with a stylish white framed Freeway II electric trolley. The top of the range Freeway II’s which reflect the English Golf Union branding were handed over to mark the opening of the Carris Trophy (English Boys Strokeplay Championship) played this week at Woodhall Spa – the home of the English Golf Union.
The partnership between PowaKaddy and the EGU began in April 2010, when each member of the English Men’s Squad was provided with a limited edition Freeway II electric trolley. Walker Cup players Tommy Fleetwood, Chris Paisley and Stiggy Hodgson were a few of the recipients on that occasion, and the positive feedback from both the players and the EGU has been the catalyst for providing the boys team with a similar offering.
As the clear market leaders in the electric trolley market, PowaKaddy enjoys a very loyal following amongst young, category one golfers thanks to the product’s slim-line compact design and stylish sporty appearance and this new partnership is sure to enhance that positioning. “Over the past decade there has been a dramatic increase in the number of youngsters that use a Powakaddy trolley. Junior players are not immune to back trouble early in their careers, by putting stress on their back and shoulders from carrying their bags” commented Simon Homer, Sales Director of PowaKaddy. “We aim to promote the game at the grass-roots level and our relationship with the English Golf Union contributes to that and also plays a part in extending the careers of our future superstars.”
John Petrie, EGU Chief Executive welcomed the additional support from PowaKaddy for the England boy’s squad. “The reaction to the Powakaddy partnership has been very positive since the announcement in April and we are delighted that PowaKaddy have supplied the U18 Squad with same limited edition product as the England Squad. The players are delighted and I am sure they will see the benefits in terms of conserving energy in big events.”
PowaKaddy continues to drive the market when it comes to electric trolley design, quality and performance. This extended alliance with the EGU will further strengthen PowaKaddy’s position as the pioneers of the electric trolley market.
