Global sports and entertainment agency 54 and the Bahrain International Golf Course Company are joining forces to boost Bahrain’s burgeoning golf tourism industry and sports investments assets.

The collaboration will focus on promoting sustainable growth while elevating Bahrain’s global position through a series of strategic initiatives, including developing a long-term golf tourism strategy, driving demand creation through unified participation efforts, and implementing best practice for sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions.

In addition, 54 will provide advisory services to optimize operations, drive impactful industry connectivity, and guide development decisions. A key element will be enhancing Bahrain’s global reputation through targeted international marketing campaigns and world-class events.

The move will see each of 54’s three service areas – Strategic Advisory, Asset Optimisation and Activation & Engagement – contribute to achieving Bahrain’s vision of a flourishing sporting economy.

Jed Moore, Group CEO of 54, commented: “Now is the ideal time for Bahrain to take an assertive position in developing a comprehensive and cooperative strategy in golf and sports, and we are proud to partner with BIGCC to support that process.

“The Gulf Cooperation Council states have become home to so many of world sport’s most impactful investments and events; a trend that shows no signs of slowing.

“Given the transformation we are seeing across the global and regional sports economy, including shifting consumption habits, new tourism trends and evolution of the private equity landscape, it is important destination stakeholders take a holistic perspective to unlock the full scale of opportunity. What we have experienced with our new partners in Bahrain is a thirst to develop a forward-looking strategy that aligns stakeholder interests in supercharging socio-economic impact.”

Captain Waleed Al-Alawi, Chairman of BIGCC, commented: “We are excited to join forces with 54 to propel Bahrain’s golf industry to new heights. By leveraging our expertise and resources, we are confident that together, we can dedicate to not only enhancing the local golf landscape but also showcasing Bahrain as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts worldwide.

“The recently concluded Bahrain Championship, a DP World Tour event, marked a triumphant return to the country after many years. Its success stands as a clear example of our collective commitment to excellence. Through this transformative partnership, we are poised to redefine the sports landscape in Bahrain and set new benchmarks for excellence in the realm of golf and sports tourism.”
