Offers over £1.5m invited for The Bulbury Club

9.00am 26th July 1999 - Property

The property was originally known as Bulbury Woods Golf Club and was founded in 1989. It was acquired in 1996 by Ian Brooks, the present owner, who changed the name to The Bulbury Club to reflect the fact that the Club is open for non-golf social activities as well as golf.

Major capital investment has been undertaken via tax rollover relief. The golf course was extended and improved in 1996/7 and over 3,000 new trees have been planted to add to the abundance of ancient woodland. The clubhouse has been substantially upgraded and it is felt that the foundations have now been laid for future business growth.

Mr Brooks wishes to retire and Mark Smith, head of golf course agency at Strutt & Parker, is confident of finding a purchaser.

“We expect The Bulbury Club to appeal to commercial golf operators and lifestyle buyers alike. It has the necessary attributes of a good commercial location near to Poole, a strong membership/client base with the added benefit of being close to the south coast and within Dorset – a very attractive county to live in.”

Offers in excess of £1.5 million are invited for the freehold property, fully fitted and equipped.
