Centurion Club was delighted to host the Junior GolfSixes League recently, where eight teams of six youngsters from Hertfordshire, Essex and Berkshire played the short 6-hole competition.
The event took place just days ahead of the Ladies European Tour Aramco Team Series, hosted for a fourth consecutive year at Centurion Club, with Leona Maguire, Georgia Hall, and Anna Nordqvist amongst the star names in attendance.
The Club was the original venue of the GolfSixes concept, which launched in 2017 highlighting Centurion Club’s unique and modern approach to golf, which was evident in 2022 for the inaugural LIV Golf tournament, when it became the focus of world golf.
Since its inception, the GolfSixes League created by national charity The Golf Foundation, has proven to be successful in getting juniors started in golf, providing a platform for young golfers to play team based golf. Supported by The R&A, the competition involves six teams of six, playing six holes in pairs using the highly inclusive Texas Scramble format. This allows non-handicap players of 37hcap and above to take part and is also supported by the four Home Nations, and this year also by the Ladies European Tour and Performance 54.

Starting with just 10 pilot leagues in 2017, the Golf Foundation now run 129 leagues across 591 clubs and nearly 7,000 players participating, with further growth of the initiative abroad supported by the DP World Tour, The R&A and Confederation of Professional Golf.
