Master PGA Professional Michael Leemhuis has expanded his role within the ClubWorks network and joined GGA Partners.
As a Partner at GGA Partners, Leemhuis will be focused on growing the firm’s executive search and people services practice. In his role, Leemhuis will leverage the firms leading recruiting practices, along with his vast network of contacts to find and place top-level talent.
“Michael’s experience in the golf and private club industry will be a tremendous asset to GGA,” commented Managing Director and Partner Michael Gregory. “His experience managing elite private clubs, coupled with his experience recruiting candidates for top clubs over the past five years, will help GGA continue to deliver the highest quality executive search services to clients.”
Leemhuis will continue in his role at ClubWorks as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer as the organisation continues adding to its growing platform of leading service providers to the private club, resort, and hospitality industries.
As a private club operator, Leemhuis served as COO of the Ocean Reef Club, where he managed more than $50 million in new capital investment and a $110 million club operation which included a hotel, airport, marina and 17 food and beverage outlets. He moved to Ocean Reef after a 16-year stint as CEO of Congressional Country Club in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for its $35 million–a–year operation.
Leemhuis is a certified PGA of America Professional, PGA of South Africa Master Professional, a Certified Club Manager and Certified Club Executive through CMAA and has a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Management from East Carolina University.
In recognition for his achievements throughout his career, he has been named the CMAA Club Manager of the Year, received the Leadership Award from Boardroom Magazine and been recognised as a CMAA Fellow as a member of the inaugural class.
