Molly Pavey, the General Manager of Bramshaw Golf Club in Hampshire, has been awarded one of only three Young Manager Bursaries by the Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE).
The Young Manager Bursaries are sponsored by former CMAE Presidents Marc Newey and Arnaldo Cocuzza, and will give Pavey access to funding to take part in the CMAE’s Management Development Programme in 2024.
“I am very proud to be one of the recipients of this year’s Young Manager bursaries,” commented Ms Pavey, who lives in Bournemouth. “I absolutely love the club I work at, so I am delighted to be given the chance to acquire new skills that will help me grow in my role. We work really hard to make sure that members and visitors to Bramshaw have the best experience possible, so I am excited to see what I can bring from outside of golf to enhance our service.”
The Young Manager Bursary part-funds accommodation and education, so in recognition of Pavey’s determination to progress in her career Bramshaw Golf Club has matched the funding.
Ben Blackburn, The club’s management consultant, explained: “Molly is such an important part of the team here at Bramshaw. She brings a drive and determination that we love, so I am delighted that we are able to help support her education. She is the driving force behind a lot of positive changes that are being made at the golf club, so I am very excited to see where this takes us in 2024 and beyond.”
Peter Chase, a long-time member and current President at Bramshaw, echoed these sentiments, adding, “A lot of hard work goes into running the golf club. There is an amazing team, led by Molly. She has implemented so many positive changes since she took the helm, and the greens are the best I’ve seen them in 23 years at this time of year!”
