Shot Scope offers personalised strategy options for playing new courses

GPS, rangefinder and shot tracking technology company Shot Scope has added a new element to its platform that enables players to improve their chances of posting a good score on a course that they have not played before.

‘MyStrategy’ overlays the last 30 shots hit with each club to help players identify how best to play each hole, based on existing, current data for an accurate representation of their game.

Existing Shot Scope user can use this to help plan ahead when playing a new course, and efficiently map out their round via the mobile or desktop app, utilising unique, personalised data already collected from their previous rounds.

David Hunter, Chief Executive Officer at Shot Scope, commented: “The addition of MyStrategy offers golfers the chance to be fully equipped with the knowledge they need to maximise their game on a new course, before playing. It provides the opportunity to prepare for rounds with the confidence that their plan for the day is built upon their own accurate data – not just what is considered the “best” tip for how to play each hole. MyStrategy allows for a specific, individualised, and effective plan before play.”

Within the app and dashboard, golfers can overlay their unique Shot Scope statistics to the course in question and develop an insightful strategy for every hole. They can view a cone of dispersion for each club, dispersion tendency (a shift of the cone depending on your average miss), and shots plotted from any hole based on current statistics.

As with play on the day, golfers can also adjust the strategy based on different elements like the wind and elevation. This ensures that no matter the conditions faced on the day, they’ll have the best understanding of how to play an individual hole based on their own stats and information.

With the last 30 shots hit with each club as the benchmark, it ensures that every time MyStrategy is used, a players’ data reflects their most recent and current form on the course.
