A golf car is generally sold with a roof and windscreen with the sides and rear left open and a vinyl fabric enclosure the only weather protection. The drawback is that the enclosure doors are flaps, which have to be rolled up and strapped to open, and secured by long zips at each side when closed. Many, including the elderly, find these arrangements less than user-friendly.
Now a Northern Ireland engineering company, MEE Ltd, has invented a rigid transparent enclosure for golf cars with aluminium frame and large sliding access doors at each side. Protected by a US Patented the enclosure is designed to last the life of the car and it is engineered for installation on all new and existing models.
Because the enclosure keeps the hot air out and the cold air in, MEE is able to offer the first battery powered air conditioning kit for golf cars.
Of course while golfers use these vehicles extensively, they are also widely used in industry, resorts, hospitals and colleges and particularly in community villages where it is often the sole means of transport. MEE is seeking distributors and dealers throughout US and Canada and will show the complete range of enclosures and air con systems at the PGA 2004 Merchandise Show in Orlando in January.
