Skycaddie tees up DMD partnership with Legends Tour

9.10pm 15th June 2023 - Sponsorship & Events

The Legends Tour has agreed an official partnership with SkyCaddie, which will see the brand’s products become the official distance measuring devices (DMDs) of the Tour.

Already hugely popular and recognised across the globe, SkyCaddie will be the go-to brand for all players looking to use DMDs in Legends Tour tournaments during the 2023 season and beyond.

Players who choose to use the company’s products will receive access to each day’s pin locations while out on course, with Legends Tour officials using SkyCaddie’s ground-mapped yardages to set pin positions and to also provide daily pin sheets to players – which can be downloaded onto players’ GPS handheld devices.

The devices will also enable players access to exact locations of hazards, greens and bunkers from any given position, with the ability to move the DMDs cursor to specific locations in order to receive exact yardages.

Phil Harrison, chief executive officer of the Legends Tour, said: “As we move into the 2023 season, we are delighted to announce this new official partnership with SkyCaddie and to be working even closer with the team there.

“With pace of play such a contentious topic in world golf, we believe this partnership will only speed up play times on the Legends Tour and improve the already great viewing experience our fans enjoy.”

James Holmes, director of sales and operations EMEA at SkyCaddie, said: “We are delighted to formalise our relationship with the Legends Tour, after having had the pleasure of supplying so many players with SkyCaddie GPS devices over the last few years.

“As it is Europe’s most prestigious tour which allows the use of distance measuring devices, the fact that the majority of players now trust SkyCaddie GPS for their yardages in the high-stakes world of tournament golf is a source of great pride to us.

“We look forward to forming even stronger bonds with this much-loved Tour and the golfing legends who play on it!”
