Retail and marketing services group Foremost Golf has announced the winners of its annual member awards, recognising the highest performing and most dedicated members in the group for 2022.
An exacting selection process awarded based on a thorough and transparent point-scoring criteria determines the winners of the three awards available to members of the group.
And it was Kenny Monaghan from Stirling Golf Club who achieved the highest honour of Foremost Professional of the Year for 2022.
Having earned a fantastic reputation as a coach working overseas, Monaghan returned home with his family to pursue his career as a head professional. Not long after, he took over at Stirling Golf Club and has progressively built a forward thinking and customer service driven business. Working closely with the club, Monaghan has put into place an ambitious plan for growing the business and providing the very best in customer service.
Commenting on his award, Monaghan said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been recognised within the industry with this award. Knowing many of my Foremost peers like I do, and the passion and effort that they put into their businesses, makes me even more proud to have won. I’d like to thank the fantastic team we have here at Stirling, my Foremost support team, especially Stuart Kerr, my Business Development Consultant, and all the suppliers and partners that I work with on a daily basis who make this industry a great place to work.”
Foremost Golf Managing Director Andy Martin added: “Kenny is an outstanding example of what makes a terrific golf professional and a key area where he stands out is his close attention to the highest standards of customer service throughout the retail and fitting experience. He is dedicated to the role, always striving for the best and exploring ways to deliver more for his club and members.”
Elite Marketing Programme (EMP) Professional of the Year was awarded to Jonathan Markham, Head Professional at Stowmarket Golf Club in Suffolk.
“I was thrilled to have been among the nominees last time, so to have won the award for this year is amazing and definitely not something I had been expecting,” said Markham.
“Having the Foremost EMP services in my business is a huge help and like an extension of my business,” he continued. “It makes me look so professional in everything I do to my members and provides them with a much better experience from their professional.”
Brickendon Grange Golf Club’s Head Professional, George Hewitt claimed the Breakthrough Professional of the Year award, which highlights members that have recently made significant improvements to their business.
Since taking over as Head Professional, Hewitt has elevated Brickendon Grange’s pro services proposition in the last few years by connecting with the club and members and taking full advantage of his Foremost business and marketing services.
“I’m always looking forward to what comes next and never want to sit still,” commented Hewitt. “I pride myself on attention to detail with customer service and how the shop looks. All the little things make a big difference and I think that’s what helps us stand out.”
“Among a very strong crop of nominees, Kenny, Jonathan and George stood out as going the extra mile for their clubs and members,” added Martin.
“Once again, we’ve recognised three members who encapsulate everything it means to be a Foremost professional, investing the time and energy to develop their businesses and improve the services they can deliver.”
