An industry-leading app which allows PGA Members to access Continuing Professional Development content when and where they want has quickly surpassed more than 1,700 downloads in just four months since its launch.

PGA Learn is seen as a significant part of the Association’s commitment to providing Members with cutting-edge lifelong learning opportunities to meet the challenges facing the golf industry, while simultaneously helping enhance the sport.

The portal delivers a wide range of learning and CPD content, from courses and videos to podcasts and webinars, created and collated by an expert lecturing team, renowned quality learning providers and The PGA’s Business Relationship Officers.

The platform also allows Members to seamlessly record their CPD activity and submit their records to gain CPD Accredited status, which is only awarded to those Members who annually meet The PGA’s CPD standards.

Available to download via Google Play and the Apple Store, the new PGA Learn app builds on the success of its online portal, allowing PGA Members to access and consume over 1,000 pieces of digital learning content 24/7. The content is designed to provide them with the latest skills and knowledge to help them to operate in all areas of golf, so golfers can enjoy and play better golf while golf clubs and facilities can benefit from the successfully run operations.

The app allows Members to login and complete CPD at their own convenience on mobile or tablet. Features include the ability to download and save content for offline viewing, allowing PGA Members to learn when it’s best for them. They can also receive notification to a mobile or tablet when a new piece of learning content becomes available.

So far, more than 70,000 pieces of content have been viewed by over 4,000 PGA Members who have visited the portal.

Commenting on the success of PGA Learn and its new app, Mark Skinner, The PGA’s Head of Business and Management, said: “We’ve got a world-renowned and revered Training Programme and it is my ambition for our Member education offer to be held in the same high regard.  The launch of PGA Learn was a significant step in providing Members with a broader range of CPD opportunities. The PGA Learn app now makes learning more convenient and accessible than ever before.

“We’re certainly not resting on our initial uptake and realise we need to constantly evolve our offer to keep Members returning. By asking for feedback and by analysing our Members’ activity on the platform, we’re learning what is of interest and what Members would like to learn more about. This insight is invaluable as it allows us to provide a dynamic and relevant offer.”

Both the PGA Learn portal and app are powered by Civica, a renowned provider of learning management systems whose clients include Microsoft, HSBC and Deloitte.
