Entries now open for St. James’s Place National Pro-Am

9.54am 13th January 2023 - Sponsorship & Events

One of the UK’s most popular pro-ams returns in 2023 with seven regional finals deciding a 12-team field for a Grand Final like no other at the five-star PGA National Turkey, Antalya Golf Club.

Open to both male and female amateurs aged 18 or over and based at a golf club in the UK or Ireland, the St. James’s Place National Pro-Am Championship pairs PGA Professionals with an amateur from their club to embark on a unique golfing journey.

Amateurs who win their club’s qualifying round will be able to partner their PGA Professional at one of seven spectacular Regional Finals – if successful there, the next stage is an all-expenses paid trip to Turkey for the Grand Final.

PGA Professionals will compete for a slice of a £41,000 prize fund, with the winning pro taking home £10,000.

The 2023 event will once again be sponsored by St. James’s Place, one of the UK’s leading providers of financial, investment and tax planning advice, while OCEANTEE return as the tournament’s official supplier.

Commenting on the launch of the 2023 St. James’s Place National Pro-Am, Robert Maxfield, Chief Executive of The PGA, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the St. James’s Place National Pro-Am in 2023 and I wish each and every competitor the best of luck.

“This is a unique event in that it offers PGA Professionals a rare opportunity to team up with an amateur partner and represent their club in a national competition.

“We are thrilled to be working with St. James’s Place once again and we thank them for their ongoing support as title sponsor of one of The PGA’s most prestigious and long-standing events.”

Paul Ainslie, Head of Division, Marketing Campaigns, Events & Partnerships at St. James’s Place, added: “We are thrilled to be extending our sponsorship of the St. James’s Place National Pro-Am into 2023.

“We are excited to continue our support of all the competitors embarking on this journey and are looking forward to working closely with The PGA to expand and grow the tournament in the years to come.”

Reflecting on his success in the 2022 St. James’s Place National Pro-Am for Caerphilly Golf Club alongside amateur Delfi Rees, Darran Clark said: “Winning the St. James’s Place National Pro-Am is one of the highlights of my career.

“The Grand Final venue at PGA National Turkey was an exceptional course to play and all players were treated brilliantly by PGA staff.

“It’s a brilliant pro-am competition hosted at one of the best golf facilities in Turkey. I’d encourage all PGA Members to enter.”
