Award winning PR & Marketing agency took on The Big Golf Race 2022 at Silvermere GC
A three-man team of golfers from award-winning PR & Marketing agency Sports Impact took on The Big Golf Race 2022 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK earlier this week and raised more than £1,200 in the process.
The team – consisting of COO Adam Smith (Chief Operating Officer), Matt Curtis (Head of Media Relations) and Johnny Percival (Head of Social Media) – completed the 72-hole golfing marathon at Silvermere Golf Club in Surrey in 15 hours and 45 minutes.
During a day that began with a 04:52 tee time, the team covered more than 63 miles between them – made up of 136,000 steps through the fairways and rough. Keeping score on every hole, the team carded 13 birdies, 100 pars, 65 bogeys and 38 worse than bogey in what was an exhausting but incredibly enjoyable experience.
“It was a great day and we’re glad that we could raise money for a very worthy cause which is something that we as a team are incredibly proud of,” said Adam.
“A huge thanks goes out to all the staff at Silvermere who went above and beyond all day to make sure we had everything we needed and tee times were kept clear, plus having the course in pristine condition. We also want to thank everyone that donated to us, which really kept us going until the end,” he added.
Helping to support the team along the way, brands including Motocaddy, Wilson, Sun Mountain, Galvin Green, Arccos and Duca del Cosma and Volvik provided everything the team members needed to complete the challenge, including state of the art electric trolleys, apparel, footwear, balls and clubs.
The team managed to exceed its fundraising target by over 200%, but donations are still open and every little helps towards a very worthy cause. If you wish to donate please follow the link below.
