Two of Scotland’s leading clubs, The Machrie and Ardfin, have joined forces to bring visiting golfers a unique Scottish Hebridean golfing experience.

For the first time, golf enthusiasts can combine a two-night stay at The Machrie on Islay, with an overnight stay at Ardfin Estates, on the neighbouring island of Jura. The twin-centre trip includes 36 holes on The Machrie Links and 18 holes at Ardfin.

Named one of the top 100 golf resorts in the world by Today’s Golfer, golf has been played at The Machrie since 1891, with the original design by Scottish Golf Professional Willie Campbell. The iconic Championship 18-hole course has since been fully modernised by course architect DJ Russell, who enjoyed a fine career on the European Tour before becoming a respected architect, with three of Scotland’s finest links in his portfolio.

The course combines the best of a traditional historic links course with a modern layout. Played on unique dunelands bordering the magnificent Laggan Bay and set against the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, The Machrie Links has an unrivalled location. The inspired run offs and revetted bunkers provide an array of shot selections, whilst the contoured greens let the imagination run wild.

Meanwhile, Ardfin, located on neighbouring Jura, boasts an 18-hole course designed by legendary architect Bob Harrison. Sculpted into the shoreline at the island’s southern tip, the course is wild and rugged and has been devised to minimise interference with nature. Ideal for those looking for a challenge, the course’s greens are narrow with fewer bunkers required than most due to the challenging cliffside landscape.

The Machrie and Ardfin Estates package. is available from now until October 31, includes

Prices start from £1,930 per person based on two people sharing a twin or double room.
