Golf course lease for sale

8.15am 10th June 2003 - Property

Four Marks Golf Course is an established and popular 9-hole golf course located five miles from Alton, Hampshire. Having been successfully run by for the last 10 years, the present operators have instructed FPDSavills Leisure department to offer the property for sale.

It comprises a 9-hole golf course extending to around 2,154 yards from the white tees, par 31. The clubhouse provides a bar/restaurant, office, pro shop and changing facilities.

The leasehold interest of the golf property (the golf course, clubhouse and the greenkeeping facilities) is offered for sale with vacant possession on completion. The lease is for a term of 25 years from 25th March 1994. The guide price is in the region of £225,000.

Adjoining the golf course there is also some freehold pastureland that may be available for sale/lease if required under separate negotiation.

Planning permission was granted earlier this year to extend the existing golf course by change of use of the adjoining freehold grazing land. Once completed this will increase the course to around 2,750 yards.

Informal enquiries of the local planning authority have indicated that an extension to the clubhouse for accommodation may be acceptable providing it can be established that a need exists for the use.

Sarah Payne of FPDSavills Oxford office comments, “This is a unique opportunity for any interested party to acquire a profitable business with a popular and established golf course. This together with its good location will be of interest to golf professionals, individuals and entrepreneurs seeking a new business venture.”
