MoreCorp and Inrange® Strike Landmark Technology Deal

2.58pm 10th December 2021 - Innovation Centre

Leading South African Sports and Leisure business MoreCorp has selected Inrange® to provide driving range technology for golf facilities across Southern Africa and Mauritius, beginning with its flagship 185-bay World of Golf in Woodmead, Johannesburg.

The partnership, which will see Inrange’s state-of-the-art radar ball tracking and software system installed at facilities across the continent, was struck following a rigorous selection process involving several competitors in the range technology marketplace.

MoreCorp’s World of Golf facility in Woodmead, Johannesburg is one of the world’s largest and busiest golf leisure parks, with in excess of 60 million balls played annually. The Inrange® radar tracking system is able to provide real-time ball tracking and player data across all 185 bays simultaneously, with just a handful of radar sensors.

MoreCorp’s goal through this ground-breaking partnership with Inrange ® is to spearhead the digital revolution of golf practice solutions across Africa by installing Inrange ® radar ball tracking at all driving ranges looking to offer a world class practice experience to patrons.

Nick Longley, Co-founder and Chief Customer Officer at Inrange® said: “We couldn’t be prouder to be working with MoreCorp to transform the driving range experience across Southern Africa. We believe that golf is a game for everyone, and this partnership will enable us to create an incredible range experience for many more players across the continent, from complete beginners, to scratch golfers, to a whole new customer base of entertainment players.”

Daniel Egdes, CEO of MoreCorp | Membership said: “At MoreCorp we are passionate about putting smiles on faces, creating indelible experiences, and helping our members and guests play better golf, more often. Our golfing Leisure Parks are centered around enjoyment and value for both the golfer and non-golfer.

“By gamifying golf practice, we are providing an entirely new way to enjoy leisure time. We firmly believe that with Inrange® technology we will reinvent golf practice forever. It will be a key component in taking our Leisure Park business, and the value we strive to deliver to our members and guests to the next level

The Inrange® system consists of radar sensors placed in and around a driving range that create a series of interlocking radar fields. Once calibrated, they can determine the origin of each ball (which bay it was hit from), and track its entire flight, no matter how long or short, in real time. The resulting data is relayed either to an in-bay touchscreen or via the cloud to the Inrange® app on the player’s mobile device.

Easily covering a range of 100 bays or more, these sensors can track dozens of balls hit simultaneously, each from a different origin, and provide detailed data on speed, trajectory, path, landing point and more, to within a yard. They are impervious to all ambient conditions such as darkness, rain, mist and audible noise.

Inrange® software provides a seamless, intuitive user-experience for the player, providing real-time feedback with pro-level data and analysis, accessible via the in-bay touchscreen or on the player’s own mobile device.

The Inrange®+ and Inrange®+Courses software enables facilities to turn standard practice bays into entertainment bays, with a variety of immersive, accessible gaming options and world-class courses to play on with family and friends.
