Somabay, a five-star resort located on an 11km stretch of Egypt’s Red Sea coastline, has appointed Legacy Golf Advisors to enhance the world-class golf facilities on offer at the luxury destination.

LGA will work with Somabay’s management team to assist with golf operations and the overall promotion of the resort.

Stuart Gillett, founding partner of LGA, commented: “The facilities at Somabay are fantastic and the golf course a real treat that has stunning routing along the Red Sea coastline. It provides a truly modern and multi-functional space that will be the envy of many world-class golf resorts.”

Included in Somabay Golf is a Gary Player-designed championship goof course, and a 9-hole par-3 course, while with an additional 18-hole championship layout designed by Tim Lobb is currently under construction.

Practice facilities include a 5,000 square metre short game arena, a 300-yard double-ended floodlit driving range with grass tees, a golf academy, and a new pro shop. There are also two new refreshment huts offering drinks and snacks.

Beyond the facilities, Somabay is also introducing a range of new golfing experiences designed to appeal to a wider audience, including night-time Golf & Glow and Ladies Golf. Somabay’s driving range is now open every evening until 9.30pm with different events every night, including Footgolf and a competition night.

Somabay offers a wide range of accommodation options across the resort, and also boasts a Holistic Spa & Thalasso centre, a diving and kite surfing centre. The resort is a four-hour flight from Central Europe with direct flights to Hurghada airport, which is 45km north of Somabay.

In addition to its 18-hole Gary Player designed Cascades Course, Somabay Golf boasts a floodlit par-three course, a driving range and a golf academy, with a further 18-hole course currently under construction
