Leicester golf centre on sale

7.50am 14th April 2003 - Property

FPDSavills has been instructed to sell Open Golf Centres Leicester on behalf of the joint administrative receivers Andy Stoneman and Paul Clark of Menzies Corporate Restructuring.

The leasehold interest of the property is being offered to the market either as a whole or in two lots, subject to a sub-lease to Fitness First.

Lot 1 comprises the 9-hole golf course, driving range, greenkeeper’s facilities and part of the clubhouse. Planning permission has been granted for an extension to the existing clubhouse and a two storey 40 bay floodlit driving range.

Lot 2 comprises the Health and Fitness Club which occupies the majority of the clubhouse.

The property is in an excellent location on the edge of Leicester and offers a high quality range of facilities

FPDSavills comments, “The property will be of interest not only to golf buyers but also investors in the health and fitness market. There is potential to expand the golf business by the development of a driving range and clubhouse.”

The leasehold interest is offered for sale at a guide price of £395,000 for Lot 1 and £750,000 – £800,000 for Lot 2.

Its sister course, located at Christchurch, Bournemouth, is also available for purchase separately. http://www.golfbusinessnews.com/news/news.asp?storyid=1339
