E-Z-GO Shuttles in Davos for World Economic Forum

When 2,500 leaders from business, government and civil society met for the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland recently, E-Z-GO Shuttles were there to transport the delegates around the convention facilities.

The compact, electric powered shuttles, based on E-Z-GO’s successful RXV golf car, can carry four people in comfort for up to eight miles. Distributed across Europe by Ransomes Jacobsen of Ipswich, UK, the Shuttles were supplied by local dealer, LV-Maschinencenter of Wittenbach.

The theme of this year’s Annual Meeting was a call to action for decision-makers to use the opportunity to “Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild”. Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France, delivered the opening address following the traditional welcome by the Swiss President, Doris Leuthard. The delegates participated in over 200 working sessions on topics including Haiti, the Millennium Development Goals, the environment and the economy.

David Withers, managing director of Ransomes Jacobsen commented, “The E-Z-GO Shuttle is the ideal people mover for an event such as this. It’s emission-free at the point of use, quiet and has excellent carrying capacity. The theme of the meeting – Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild – sums up the design principles when E-Z-GO set about producing a new golf car, some three years ago. The RXV was a redesign from the ground up, with new technology incorporated in a package that has changed the way people look at this type of vehicle. We’re obviously delighted with our involvement with such a high-profile, world event.”
