De Vere’s championship golf venues across the UK have won the right to host events in the 2010 International Pairs series including national qualifiers, the UK Grand Final and the prestigious World Final.

The layout, conditioning and resort facilities at the De Vere venues, as well as their locations across the UK, were highlighted as factors in awarding UK qualifying events to Slaley Hall in Northumbria, Oulton Hall in Yorkshire, Belton Woods in Lincolnshire, Mottram Hall in Cheshire and Wokefield Park in Berkshire. In addition to hosting five UK qualifiers, the championship layout at Wychwood Park will host the UK Final while the stunning Carrick on Loch Lomond resort has been awarded the World Final.

Having hosted the 24th PGA Cup matches in September 2009, as well as the Ladies European Tour in 2007 and 2008, The Carrick on Loch Lomond is no stranger to top class competition. The World Final of the International Pairs will see golfers from across the world descend on the award-winning Scottish resort, which also boasts the 5-star Cameron House Hotel and luxurious spa within its grounds.

Host venue of the UK Final, Wychwood Park, has also seen its reputation as a tournament venue grow in recent years. Having hosted the PGA EuroPro Tour in each of the last three years, the testing Cheshire layout will host the European Tour qualifying school in 2010, joining an elite list of courses to welcome Europe’s highest level. Measuring over 7,000 yards from the Championship tees, Wychwood Park is a thorough test of every aspect of a players game.

Daniel Hodson, Director of Golf and Leisure for De Vere, commented, “We are thrilled to have won the right to host the International Pairs qualifiers and Finals, which are a great addition to our championship schedule for 2010. We have hosted some high profile professional championships in recent years, and the International Pairs series really validates our courses as a fair and true test to golfers of all abilities. I am sure golfers from across the world will have a fantastic time at The Carrick on Loch Lomond for the World Final, and I wish every player the best of luck!”

The International Pairs series has grown in stature since its inception in 1998 with the event becoming one of the leading amateur golf series’ in the world.

Over 300 clubs are expected to enter their winners into regional qualifiers, from where the top-3 finishers will progress to the UK National Final, at Wychwood Park. The winners of each ‘National Final’ across the world will then compete at The Carrick on Loch Lomond in their attempt to win the coveted international Pairs 2010 trophy.
