Europe launch for on-line coaching

9.00am 13th March 2003 - Media

GolfSpan.com, the USA’s no.1 online golf coaching resource, is launching a dedicated service for the UK and Europe. The new service will see over 500 video-on-demand clips hosted from London, providing Europe’s golfers with quick, easy and secure high-quality access. The service is as valid for beginners learning a proper grip and swing as it is to experienced players and professionals alike.

GolfSpan.com works best with a broadband connection and contains the world’s largest library of high quality video coaching on-demand featuring 15 of the top 100 professional PGA instructors. Coaches on the site include:

Jim McLean – ‘third best coach in the world‘ (Golf Digest)

Denis Pugh – ‘Europe’s most prominent instructor’

Steven Bann – ‘Australia’s top instructor’

Dr. Richard Coop – Psychologist to Nick Faldo and Mark O‘Meara

All clips are fully searchable. Members can simply browse the library or type in a specific fault that requires attention. In each case, high quality video is delivered to the desktop, which can be paused and replayed at will. It really works!

Peter Yunis, CEO of GolfSpan.com said, “GolfSpan.com provides un-paralleled access for ordinary golfers everywhere to coaching and techniques enjoyed by the top US and European Tour pro‘s. I‘m really looking forward to hearing from golfers throughout Europe that have improved their game the only guaranteed way: with quality instruction.”

Robert Clarke, CEO of deepsync, who exclusively manage GolfSpan.com outside North America, said, “We are delighted to be working with one of the most successful video-on-demand sites in the world. Anyone who wants to witness how to make money from content should watch this space. The launch of GolfSpan.com marks the final coming of age of broadband in Europe. The prequel is finally over, and millions of European households are at last beginning to see the benefits.”

GolfSpan.com was launched in the United States in 2001 and in its first year secured over 10,000 subscriptions. The company is based in Phoenix, Arizona.

GolfSpan.com says that its service is complimentary to professional golf lessons as it encourages golfers to seek further advice from their local pro on improving their game.

Annual Membership to GolfSpan.com costs $50, by online credit card payment (approx £33 or €45) allowing unlimited video-on-demand coaching plus a range of additional benefits. Members are offered a full refund if they are not completely satisfied and do not reduce their scores as a result of membership. There are already over 500 video lessons available and new instruction is added each month. Full European offers and additional video will follow in the coming months.
