The Antognolla Alps Open, which is part of the Italian Pro Tour, will be supported by the presenting sponsor +Energia, offering a prize fund of €40,000. The 54-hole tournament is anticipated to attract a field of up to 144 professionals, who will compete to be crowned the Antognolla Alps Open Champion for 2021.

César Burguière, Golf Director at Antognolla Golf, commented: “The owners and all the team at Antognolla are thrilled to be hosting another prestigious professional golf tournament after the success of the PGA of Italy Championship in 2019. After a difficult year for everyone in 2020, we are again looking forward to welcoming the professional golfers to Antognolla Golf and the Umbria region. We are confident they will enjoy playing the golf course in this amazing location.”

The tournament is promoted by Infront Sports & Media, with the Federazione Italiana Golf providing tournament management. Tournament Director, Alessandro Pia stated: “In these still challenging times, it is excellent news to be adding a new Alps Tour event to the Italian Pro Tour schedule. Thanks go to Infront, FIG Official Advisor, the presenting sponsor +Energia, and main sponsors DS Automobiles and Fideuram. We also are grateful to our official suppliers Kappa and Eureco and media partner Corriere dello Sport, Il Giornale, Tuttosport, and of course to Antognolla for hosting and introducing +Energia. We are looking forward to another professional golf event in Antognolla, one of the most stunning venues in Italy.”

César added, “we are extremely grateful to the support of +Energia, the presenting sponsor. This is a second major event they have sponsored at Antognolla and we will be working hard with all stakeholders to ensure a successful tournament”.

The Alps Tour are celebrating 20 years of ‘raising golf stars’ and giving young professionals the opportunity to play and experience professional tournaments, with the incentive to graduate to the Challenge Tour and the European Tour. Recent winners of the Alps Tour Order of Merit include Italy’s own Nino Bertasio, currently playing on the European Tour, and Matt Wallace, four-time European Tour winner and current number 55 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
