GPS specialist Garmin has unveiled three new golf GPS products, the Approach S42 and S12 watches and the handheld Approach G10.
All three devices give precise distances to the front, middle and back of the green, as well as hazards, hazards, doglegs and layups, on over 42,000 preloaded courses. A Green View feature enables the true shape of the green to be seen, while golfers can move the pin for better yardage accuracy.
They also support connectivity with Garmin’s Approach CT10 club sensors for detailed distance tracking, while the Garmin golf app automatically upload scorecards and allows user to participate in weekly leaderboards and tournaments, review live scoring, strokes gained analysis and much more.

Approach S42
The Approach S42 offers a 1.2-inch colour touchscreen display with a sleek design that makes it wearable as a wristwatch as well as golf tracking device. As well as the full array of yardage information, the S42 boasts an AutoShot round analyser to track and auto-record shot distances. Activity-tracking features tinclude steps, sleep, calories, vibration alerts, move bar and built-in sport profiles. Battery life is 15 hours in GPS mode and up to 10 days in smartwatch mode. Approach S12
Featuring a 1.3-inch sunlight-readable high-resolution display, the Approach 12 has a new ‘Big Numbers’ display mode, which makes it easier than ever to read yardages during play. When paired with the Garmin Golf app, it wirelessly updates a player’s most frequently played courses for up-to-date course information. Battery life is 30 hours in GPS mode and up to 10 days in watch mode. It is offered in white, black or granite blue finishes. RRP £179.99.
Approach G10 GPS handheld
Offering all the benefits included in the Approach S12 in palm-sized unit, the versatile Approach G10 GPS handheld adds a built-in clip and a lanyard loop to securely attach the device to a belt or golf bag. RRP £129.99.
