After 17 years in the golf business and almost 850 installations worldwide, Jencess Software and Technologies has announced their first underground installation – at The Golfer’s Edge.
The Edge has recently opened after 2 years of planning, research and construction, choosing to locate itself in the heart of The City, in Clifton Street, EC2, alongside the Broadgate development. Operations manager, Toby Heelis selected Jencess PROffice after careful consideration. “We looked at many reservations systems,” he said “and many membership systems. None, however, linked as seamlessly as the Jencess modules.”
With The Edge’s highflying members leading busy and hectic lifestyles, PROffice ensures that automated emails are sent to confirm reservations, helping to keep utilisation levels high. A comprehensive selection of management information reports ensures that the business is well yield-managed and runs smoothly from day to day.
The Edge is one of the most innovative concepts to be seen in golf in years, employing cutting edge technology to bring real golf courses indoors. The Edge’s state of the art golf simulators combine the world’s most advanced laser technology with lifelike graphics, enabling members and guests to play golf courses from around the world. The simulators show ball flight and trajectories, including slices and hooks. Golfers are drawn on to the course and see everything in real time with instant statistical feedback and complete video swing analysis.
Jencess president, Kirk Jensen, was more than pleased with how well PROffice had adapted itself to suit the requirements of The Edge. “In all my years in the golf business, I never imagined we would find our software being used to manage an indoor and underground golf facility,” he said. “ I am naturally delighted that PROffice has shown itself to be flexible enough to cope with the unusual demands of The Edge and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them as their roll-out to new and international markets continues.
