Golf clubs in Wales will be required to close for two weeks following the Welsh government’s announcement of a Covid-19 circuit-breaker lockdown from October 23 until November 9.
First Minister Mark Drakeford announced the fortnight lockdown today (Monday, October 19th), but it will not come into force until Friday 23rd at 6pm. It will apply to everyone living in Wales and will supersede all local restrictions currently in place.
The clear ‘stay at home’ message means that all non-essential retail and leisure are to close during this lockdown period, including golf clubs, and gatherings indoors and outdoors with people not in your household will also be banned.
A Welsh Government statement said: “Your exercise should start and finish from your home and you should exercise alone or with a member of your household ‘Golf and tennis clubs will be required to close during the period of the lockdown.”
