A video offering golf fans a guide to the golf course and facilities at Close House in Newcastle has been unveiled ahead of the venue’s hosting of this week’s British Masters, which heralds the start of the European Tour’s Summer Swing of tournaments in the UK.
The video, which is hosted by Lee Westwood, who is the ambassador for the tournament and Close House, is aimed at golf fans who haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing the course, and due to Coronavirus, aren’t allowed to attend this year’s British Masters.
In the exclusive tour, Westwood takes viewers around the club’s Filly course, providing an insight into some of the key holes and offers some tips on how he plays them.
The tour then moves indoors, showcasing some of the rooms inside Close House itself, including a private look at the Pavillion, Royal Portrush, Ganton & St George’s Hill rooms on the grounds. He finishes the day off by enjoying his very own ‘Westwood’ Burger at The Number 19 restaurant.
Graham Wylie, the owner of Close House, joins Lee on the tour and challenges him on the fifth hole of the Yearling course, as they played for a £1 bet, eventually settling for a draw.
The video was filmed and produced by The Social Co, a Durham-based digital media agency that will be returning to Close House later this week to film some behind-the-scenes footage at the British Masters.
