Two of Scandinavia’s most highly rated clubs, Kytäjä Golf in Finland and Miklagard Golf in Norway, have joined IMG Prestige, the global network of leading clubs and resorts.
Located a half-hour north of Helsinki, Kytäjä features two award-winning golf courses, the South East and the North West, both of which were designed by Canadian architect Thomas McBroom.
Awarded the honour of being ‘Finland’s Best Golf Course’ at the 2019 World Golf Awards, Kytäjä has also been ranked the top course in Finland by Golf Digest and also by Top 100 Golf Courses in 2020. The club hosted a European Challenge Tour event three times between 2012-14.
Kytäjä offers on-site accommodation with seven luxury private villas, which are available to rent during the golf season, and there is also a gourmet restaurant.
Russell Hannah, Senior Director, IMG Golf Course Services, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Kytäjä Golf to the network. We are always looking for new exciting destinations to offer to our club members so it’s fantastic to have Finland’s best club joining IMG Prestige. Once international travel is allowed, IMG Prestige members will be able to play at one of the best courses in Europe”.
Jukka Koivu, CEO, Kytäjä Golf, commented: “It’s an honour for us to be invited to join IMG Prestige and be the first Finnish club in the network. The programme features some of the world’s best golf courses and we’re extremely confident that Kytäjä members will enjoy the added benefits when booking to play at other IMG Prestige clubs.”
Miklagard Golf is the first club in Norway to join IMG Prestige. Located 20 minutes from Oslo, the club has been ranked Best Golf Course in Norway by Rolex Golf Guide and Top 100 Golf Courses since 2003.
Russell Hannah commented: “We’re proud to announce another great addition to our network of clubs and resorts. Miklagard is located in an area with a lot of Viking history, making it an exciting golfing destination.”
Tore Waagø, General Manager of Miklagard Golf, commented: “IMG has been at the forefront of the global sports industry since its inception in 1960, so for us is a great honor to be the first club in Norway to join the IMG Prestige network.”
